KATHMANDU, March 18: The election of Free Student Union (FSU) under the Tribhuvan University (TU) was held at 38 affiliated campuses.
According to Professor Pashupati Adhikari, the member secretary of the TU Central Monitoring and Coordination Committee, the election took place at 38 out of 62 affiliated campuses. The voting was scheduled from 8 am to 4 pm, and election officials stated that individuals who entered the polling station before the closing time would still be allowed to cast their votes.
Today, the election could not take place at two campuses. Although voting had begun, the election was halted at Patan Multiple Campus and Prithvi Narayan Campus.
According to officials, an agreement has been reached to hold voting at Prithvi Narayan Campus tomorrow, while efforts are underway to reach a consensus at Patan Campus. TU has a total of 64 affiliated campuses.
Similarly, TU has 1,053 accredited campuses. It has stated that they are in the process of collecting details about how many of these accredited campuses held elections.
