FM manager beaten by colleague

PARSA, July 7: The station manager of local Gadhimai F.M. Radio Station has been severely beaten up by a fellow staff at the station Wednesday night.



This incident comes at a time when the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), the umbrella organization of journalists throughout the country, are protesting against attacks and mistreatment towards journalists.[break]



Station manager Gyanendra Mishra was manhandled by Jiut Yadav, a marketing department staff at the same F.M. radio station at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Yadav suddenly attacked Mishra while he was busy in work, it is said.



Mishra has been seriously injured in the attack. He has been kept at the Intensive Care Unit at Advanced Medical Centre here. According to doctors, Mishra has serious injuries in his chest and head.



The FNJ Parsa District Branch has already reported the incident to the District Police Office. The FNJ Parsa has demanded stern action against Yadav.
