DHORPATAN (BAGLUNG), Feb 24: Dhorpatan has experienced its first snowfall of the year. Following a prolonged dry spell, rain and snowfall began on Sunday evening, bringing colder temperatures to the region. Farmers are delighted, hoping the snowfall will boost crop growth.
According to Binod BK, a ranger at the Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve, snowfall has blanketed the Dhorpatan Valley and the surrounding areas. He mentioned that while the weather had been unfavorable since Friday, rain and snowfall only started on Sunday evening.
Prem Bahadur Gharti Magar, a resident of Dhorpatan Municipality-9, shared that the snowfall has made it difficult to feed horses, mules, and livestock. Despite some rainfall last month, there had been no snowfall. He holds that the rain and snowfall will benefit crops.
"We faced a long dry spell, and our crops had started to wither," he said. "Although delayed, the rain has finally arrived."
