Comedy Night at Thamel

“I heard if you change your religion, you might get money for the same. Therefore, I followed Christianity. However, still I haven’t got any money,” Yojana Thapa, standup comedian shared on the stage.

Thapa said the above statement while performing at standup comedy show held at House of Musical, Thamel on Sunday, organized by Comedy Tuk Tuk.

Thapa, usually talks about issues related to women but this time she used the issue of religion. Likewise, another stand-up comedian, Aayush Shrestha presented a satirical performance with the theme of ‘Buddha was born in Nepal’ where he shared “Nepali can’t discuss on any other topics, except for ‘Buddha was born in Nepal’.”

“Stand-up comedians usually speak about current issues of the country. And the attendees adore their presentation. Besides, Kathmandu, the show has been gradually expanding in Pokhara, Chitwan and Butwal as well,” Shrestha said about the craze for stand-up comedy show.

Meanwhile, Aayush Shrestha, Yojana Thapa, Rajina Shrestha and Asun Bhandari also gave humorous performance in the show.
