KATHMANDU, Jan 4: Chairperson of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (Dahal-Nepal faction) Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Monday left for Mumbai, India, for his wife Sita's treatment.

The Dahal family flew to India via a Nepal Airlines aircraft at 11:20AM.

Sita has long been suffering from progressive supranuclear palsy. She will undergo treatment at NeuroGen Brain and Spine Institute in Mumbai.

A team of doctors led by Dr Alok Sharma will be involved in Sita's treatment, according to Chairman Dahal's press aide Bishnu Sapkota.

Daughters Renu and Ganga are accompanying their parents during their stay in Mumbai.

Earlier, Dahal had taken his wife to the United States and Singapore for treatment.
