KATHMANDU, Aug 15: ‘Lipu Lekh Border Point, Illusion and Reality', a book attempting to offer insights into the disputed Lipu Lekh border point, was launched here amidst a program Saturday.

Jointly penned by Pro Dr Gopal Siwakoti and journalist Dipendra Rokaya, the book was unveiled by CPN-Maoist Chairman Mohan Baidya.

Containing nine chapters, the book attempts to cover as much as ground regarding the place, including some historical agreements and memorandum made in connection to the place as well as talks with the witnesses to it.

Launching the book, Chairperson Baidya endorsed the contents of the book as a 'must read' for every Nepali as it presented a serious issue.

"The book presents adequate evidences that assert Lipu Lekh lies in Nepali territory," argued Baidya, pressing for the amendment of the Lipu Lekh pact signed between India and China.

Also speaking at the program, former lawmaker and leader Shanta Shrestha remarked that it was irony to see those who opposed the demarcation process while federating the country keeping mum despite the annexation of Nepal's territory into another country.

Author Siwakoti believed that the book would be useful to make people aware on Lipu Lekh.

Published by Pairavi Publications, the book is priced Rs 195. RSS
