KATHMANDU, Feb 26: Police have arrested 75 people from the Pashupati on Wednesday. They were charged with engaging in unwanted activities on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri.
According to the District Police Range, Kathmandu, they were detained after they were found to be engaging in disorderly activities, causing disturbances after consuming drugs and marijuana, and displaying indecent manners.
All the arrested are men and the police have held them captive at the Police Circle Gaushala and Police Range Teku. Police said that they will be released and the action process will be taken forward after considering the situation.
Additionally, around 4,000 volunteers are managing the festival. To ensure security, the event is being safeguarded by a total of 7,000 security personnel, including officers from Nepal Police, Armed Police, and the Central Bureau of Investigation.
