Judicial Council recommends Niraula and Pandey as SC justices along with 14 judges for transfer

KATHMANDU, Sept 27: The Judicial Council has recommended Nripadhwaj Niraula and Nityanand Pandey for judgeships at the Supreme Court (SC). The Council's meeting on Friday made several decisions.

Niraula was serving as the Chief Judge of the Patan High Court, while Pandey held the position of Chief Judge at the Tulsipur High Court.

The meeting also decided to appoint senior-most judge Prakash Man Singh Raut to oversee the implementation of the recommendations outlined in the report of the task force formed regarding the execution of the Judicial Council (First Amendment) Regulations, 2023.

The Council also has recommended transferring 14 judges from the High Court.

Moreover, Subhash Paudel, a judge at the Tulsipur High Court, Nepalgunj bench, has been appointed as the legal member and chair of the Revenue Tribunal Nepalgunj. Judge Gokarna Dangi from the Dipayal High Court has been appointed as the chair of the Foreign Employment Tribunal.
