Dr. Neupane appointed as Chairman of BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital

BHARATPUR, April 4: Dr. Bijay Raj Neupane has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital Bharatpur. He is working as a former deputy director in that hospital. It is said that the meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Monday appointed him as the chairman.

The newly-appointed chairman, Dr. Neupane said that the hospital will be developed as the country's main center in the field of cancer along with research, treatment, and teaching.

He passed the Health Assistant examination in 2037 BS from Institute of Medical Sciences Maharajganj Campus and has served in various health institutions in Chitwan, Nawalparasi and Parsa districts for six years. In the year 2043, he studied MD (similar to MBBS here) in the then Soviet Union Ukraine. In the year 2050, he became a doctor of MD (similar to MBBS here) and made his district a workplace to provide medical services. Dr. Neupane had served in the Family Planning Association for six years.

He started his service at BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital in 2056. In 2057, he spent three years at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS), Dharan to specialize in Anesthesiology and Critical Care. After passing MD in 2060, he is working at BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital.

Dr. Neupane, who retired after a long experience from being the head of the department to the deputy director in the cancer hospital, had contributed to the role of coordinator for 16 years by establishing hospice and palliative care while staying at the cancer hospital.
