KATHMANDU, June 21: The special committee investigating the 33 kg gold smuggling case has raided the residence of trader Bimal Poddar.

The members of the committee, formed by the Home Ministry raided Poddar’s house at Dillibazar based Silver City apartment on Thursday.

 According to a member of the committee, they have collected various documents including bank statement, diary and a contact list of various personals believed to be alleged involvement in the case. , The committee had claimed Poddar’s involvement in the smuggling of illegal gold 

Poddar was arrested on Wednesday evening from his residence.
