KAPILAKOT (Sindhuli), Nov 24: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said the constitution would be amended after addressing the grievances from various sides on constitution. 

Laying a foundation stone to a bridge at Sahan of Sindhuli on Thursday, PM Dahal reiterated that he was committed to addressing the demands raised by Madhesi, indigenous, and Tharu community and amend the constitution thereafter. 

Constitution amendment, election in all three tiers, pension to farmers, modernization of agriculture are some of the top priorities of the government, according to the PM. "Nepal's economic prosperity lies in the progress in agriculture. I've floated a plan of agriculture campus in each province," PM Dahal added. 

The PM further said he had learnt that the earthquake survivors in Sindhuli have not got relief, so efforts were on to address it. 

On the occasion, representatives of three major political parties of Sindhuli submitted a memo to Prime Minister Dahal drawing his attention on the important development agendas of the district. 

Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Centre) took joint initiative to prepare and submit the memorandum that includes the construction of 13-MW hydropower project of Kapilakot Kokhajor, rural electrification, Sunkoshi Marin diversion, Marin Chandaha, Kamal River and Chure Prevention and development of physical infrastructure for tourism promotion. 

The target is to complete the construction of the bridge on Poush 28, 2076 BS, after around three years. A total cost of around 435 million would be spent for the construction of the bridge. RSS
