A Nepali student in the US has achieved Academic Excellence Award as University Topper. A nursing student, Dikshya Koirala has received the MSN Academic Excellence Award as University Topper for the Family Nurse Practitioner Program from Monmouth University, New Jersey.

Academic Excellence Awards are presented each year to graduating students who have proven to be exceptional students. These students are selected by their respective departments as the most outstanding in their chosen fields.

According to the University, Koirala bagged the Award securing a cumulative GPA of 4.0 as she graduated the MSN Program under the School of Nursing and Health Studies of the University. 

Koirala has been living in Old bridge, New Jersey with her husband Anuj Gautam and their son Yuvaan Gautam. Her family members have congratulated her for the outstanding achievement.

Taking to Facebook, Koirala has expressed sincere gratitude to all her family members who supported her in the course of her study. Expressing gratitude to her husband, she has written, "Anuj Gautam-- the man behind it all. He pushed me to get started (in fact he enrolled me!!!). The rock that held it all together through every phase. Thank you for everything that you do every day for our family. We pulled it through some of the toughest years of our life!! I really couldn’t do it without you."

She has also expressed thankfulness to her in-laws mentioning, "Mummy (Yashoda Gautam) & Buwa Uddhab Gautam ,thank you for the last year for holding it all together. I did not have to worry about anything, thanks to you. I couldn’t have done it without your support.". "Archana Sharma, Anup Gautam, Thank you for everything you guys did all through this journey! I could not have survived the pandemic without your support. Thank you Bhauju for being my medical model."

She has further extended her joy by thanking her parents by saying, "Mamu Madhu Koirala & Daddy Bachchu Prasad Koirala, thank you for always believing in me and pushing me to do my best! You guys believed I could more than I ever did. In hindsight the toughest part of this whole journey was the beginning when I was the most anxious to get started… and you guys held it together for me. I couldn’t do it without your support."
