KATHMANDU, March 8: Shape Two’s Selina Hada and Gymkhana’s Neha Banu have won the third Inter-club Women’s Squat Tournament titles on Thursday.

At the match played at Hotel Heritage in Sanepa of Lalitpur, Hada won the over-60 kg title and Banu won the under-60 kg title.

In the over-60 kg weight category, Hada lifted 140 kg, while River Field Club’s Uma Maharjan lifted 125 kg and secured the second place. Anytime Fitness Club’s Anjana Rai lifted 122.5 kg to get the third place.

Likewise, in the under-60 kg weight category, Banu lifted 120 kg and got the first place, while Raise Fitness’ Aruna Basnet became second by lifting 115 kg. Ranipauwa Sports Center’s Jyoti Thapa lifted 100 kg to secure the third place.

The winners of both the categories took home Rs 50,000 each, while the runner-ups were rewarded with Rs 30,000 each. Also, the third-placed players were prized with Rs 20,000 each.

The tournament, which was started from Wednesday, saw 13 players in under-60 kg weight category and 25 players in over-60 kg weight category reach the final round played on Thursday.

A total of seven clubs from Kathmandu and three from outside the valley took part in the tournament.Hada, Banu lifts women squat titles.
