Democrat's win essential to safeguard country's existence: NC President Deuba

SOLUKHUMBU, Nov 12: Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba today said that the democrat's victory in the polls was essential to safeguard the country's existence. Addressing a gathering of NC cadres at Lukla of Solukhumbu, he said the NC would do its best in helping the Sherpa community while referring to Pasang Lhamu Sherpa declared the national hero by the previous government led by him. 

Referring to Ang Gelu Sherpa, who is running for the State Assemblies elections from Constituency (B) under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) system, the PM also claimed that no other parties have fielded an election candidate from Sherpa community under the FPTP. 
He added that NC was always with the Sherpa community

At the event, local leaders of Khumbu area demanded that political leaders should focus on development activities. 

In return, PM Deuba and the election candidate Sherpa pledged to blacktop the Lukla-Surke road within next two years, and construct a city hall in Solududhkunda Municipality. PM Deuba was scheduled to return to Kathmandu today itself. RSS
