11 injured in two separate microbus accidents in Saptari

RAJBIRAJ, May 10: As many as 11 persons were injured in two separate accidents involving micro-buses in Saptari on Tuesday.

A westward bound microbus (Ba 4 Kha 823) swerved out of control at Kanchanpur Municipality – 2 along the East – West Highway injuring five on board. The injured passengers have been identified as Kalpana Subedi, 40, of Koteshwor – 4, Kathmandu, Kaushila Sherpa, 39, of Dhulabari – 8, Jhapa, Radhika Poudel, 5, and Mukuda Poudel, 55, of Bhadrapur – 8, Jhapa and Balram Poudel, 40, of Pauwa – 2, Rasuwa.

They are undergoing treatment at Dharmeshwor Hospital based at Theliya. The Area Police Office, Kanchanpur has detained the microbus driver and impounded the vehicle.

In another incident, a microbus (Ba 4 Kha 5183) en route to Kathmandu from Hile of Shambhunath Municipality – 8 also lost control and met with an accident along the East – West Highway injuring six passengers.

The injured include Pramila Chaulagain, 21, and Rabilal Bishwokarma, 47, of Charambi – 6, Bhojpur, Dil Bahadur Nepali, 46, of Dhankuta Municipality – 1, driver Ram Tamang, 39, of Ramechap Lakhanpur – 7, Tulasi Rai, 36, of Bhojpur Deurali – 9 and Santosh Nepal, 34, of Dolakha Sahare – 6.

Pramila, Rabilal and Dil Bahadur are undergoing treatment at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan while others are being treated at local medical clinics, according to District Police Office, Saptari. RSS
