Writer Aswini Koirala honored in Japan

Nepali writer and journalist, Aswini Koirala was recently honored in Japan for his outstanding contribution in the field of Nepali literature and journalism. He was felicitated at the International Nepali Haiku Convention 2018. The program was jointly organized by World Haiku Organization, International Nepali Literary Society and Japan Chapter in Nepali Embassy, Japan, as per the press statement released by Koirala.

Japanese writer and director of World Haiku Association, Ban Ya Natuishi, honored Koirala with an honorary certificate and cash in a program attended by renowned literary figures of Japan.  Koirala’s new book ‘Parijat’ (a collection of Nepali haiku poems) was also launched during the event. He is also the writer of bestseller Nepali novels, ‘Premalaya’ and ‘Juckerberg Café’.

“I have been a great admirer of Aswini’s writings. I am really glad that he has entered into Haiku writing, which originated from Japan. Program like this is very vital in building strong cultural ties between Nepal and Japan,” the press statement quoted Krishna Chandra Aryal, first secretary of Nepali Embassy in Japan.
