Women entrepreneurs need support to sustain their businesses: FWEAN
KATHMANDU, Aug 11: The Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Associations of Nepal (FWEAN) has emphasized the importance of all agencies taking active steps to support women entrepreneurs in making their businesses sustainable.
In its 21st year, the FWEAN organized a one-day Teej festival event for the first time, focusing on strategies to help women entrepreneurs sustain their businesses amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and economic recession.
Yangkila Sherpa, a founding member of FWEAN and a member of the Bagmati Province Assembly, expressed her commitment to continue supporting women entrepreneurs. She reaffirmed her ongoing dedication to helping women in business.
Gyawali said that there is a need for all sectors to contribute to boosting the morale of women entrepreneurs. She suggested that regular exhibitions, festivals, fairs, and marketing events are essential for enhancing business skills and sustaining the market during slow periods.
She further called on everyone to support local businesses, make the market viable, and promote and market products made by women entrepreneurs. Gyawali also encouraged participation in fairs and exhibitions to help uplift women entrepreneurs by purchasing their goods.
FWEAN's Executive Director Abhilasha Poudel shared that 35 stalls were set up during the one-day Teej festival, showcasing various festival-related items.
