The number of visitors at Gorkha Museum has significantly increased in the past years. Visitors come to the museum to see the history of Nepali Shah Kings. The number of visitors stood at 45,340 in 2015, while in 2016, approximately 70,948 people visited the museum.

Both domestic as well as international tourists can be seen at the museum. The rise in the number of visitors is attributed to the museum’s reconstruction after the 2015 Gorkha Earthquake that had severely damaged the museum.

According to Durga Chaudhari, staff at the Gorkha Museum the revenue generation of Gorkha Museum last year was Rs 547,000 which is in increasing order where this year the museum collected Rs 1,457,000. He also stated that the rise in revenue might be related to the increased ticket price.

The ticket price for students is Rs 10, for internal tourists (adults) Rs 25, for tourists from SAARC countries is Rs 50, while visitors from other countries have to pay Rs 100. About 13, 000 visitors were recorded during the month of October-November, 2016. The museum is mostly crowded during the months from September to November, the season for educational trips. Moreover, international visitors can usually be seen at the museum from January to March.
