Today’s weather forecast: Possibility of heavy rain at several places

KATHMANDU, Aug 13: The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast that there is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall in five provinces today. 

According to the bulletin issued by the Department, some places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces and one or two places in the remaining provinces are currently experiencing light to moderate rain.

Currently, it is raining in some places, due to the influence of monsoon winds. This afternoon, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely at some places of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces and at a few places in the remaining provinces.

According to the MFD, heavy rainfall is expected at one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Lumbini provinces. Due to the possibility of heavy rainfall, the MFD has urged everyone to take necessary precautions to avoid the risk or damage of disasters such as floods, landslides and erosion that may occur in the provinces. Similarly, there is a possibility of partial impact on daily life including agriculture, health, tourism, road and air transport.
