Singer Krishnakumar Kunnath no more

KATHMANDU,

Famed singer and composer Krishnakumar Kunnath, known as KK, died due to cardiac arrest in Kolkata on Tuesday night at the age of 53.

He was in Kolkata for a two-day concert. He fell ill during an event at Nazrul Mancha and was declared dead when he was brought to the hospital according to the CMRI(Calcutta Medical Research Institute) hospital staff.

He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, actors Akshya Kumar, Rashmi Desai, Gautam Rode, Rahul Vaidya and many other celebrities mourned his sudden demise.

Kunnath is popularly known for his song “Yaaron Dosti”. He also sang some of the chartbuster songs like "Khuda Jaane", "Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar", "Make Some Noise for the Desi Boyz", "Ajab Si", "Sach Kehraha Hai Deewana".
