Parliamentary special committee takes statement from Raj Bahadur Singh of Sumeru Cooperative

KATHMANDU, Aug 12: The Parliamentary Investigation Special Committee, established to probe the misappropriation of cooperative funds, has taken the statement of Raj Bahadur Singh, a shareholder of Sumeru Savings and Credit Co-operative in Pulchowk.

Committee Chairman Surya Thapa reported that Singh has committed to arranging the return of depositors' money from his personal assets.

Singh also said that a new board of directors has been formed with plans to restart the cooperative with this objective in mind.

Raj Bahadur Singh, who is the son-in-law of former King Gyanendra, noted during his statement that this was the first time he had made such remarks.
