NEXT Growth Conclave motivates start-ups

KATHMANDU, Dec 23: Next Venture Crop organized the NEXT Growth Conclave, the largest tech entrepreneurship conference in Asia at Soaltee Crowne plaza on Friday. 

The conference was organized with the aim to promote the work of start-up businesses with the presence of various prominent business persons. The conference had five sessions including Media Lounge, Inverter Lounge, Venture Blend and Start-up Valley. Start-up participants were given a chance to exhibit their innovations at startup valley. 

According to Jyoti Rai,an organizing committee member from Next Venture corp, the event had as many as 29 stalls showcasing innovations of startup participants, among which around 15 stalls were launched at the ‘Kick Start Hill’. One best presenter got a chance to present his/her business at Techsauce Global Summit (one of the biggest business conference of south Asia) in Thailand. 

Chief Executive Officer of Himal Distillery Pvt Ltd, Om Krishna Shah, said though he had been planning to start his own paper industry business named Raj Devi Pulp and Paper with the investment of around 20 million USD, he was facing financial as well as other challenges because of the lack of experience. 

Speaking about the program, Shah said, “I think this conference is a great platform for start-up business persons like us as it provides us an opportunity to learn from the experiences and challenges of different speakers while also communicating with like-minded people.” 

Another participant of Startup Valley Navaraj Pandey, CEO at kpadhne.com said, “Our website has information about different educational institutes across Nepal. It is a guide for students and parents to find apt educational institutes. Most of the speakers at this conference are from Southeast Asia, so this is a great opportunity for us to learn from their experiences.”
