NEPSE gains 32 points; daily turnover decreases to Rs 14.13 billion

KATHMANDU, July 25: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday inclined up 32 points to close at 2,568.11 points.

The market that opened at 2,536.11 points initially plunged to the day’s low at 2,519.68 points in the first 10 minutes. In the next over one hour, the index jumped to the day’s high at 2,572.83 points. The market went to moderate fluctuations in the remaining trading hours and shed around four points before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies decreased by 7.09 points. The daily turnover declined to Rs 14.13 billion from Rs 16.20 billion on Wednesday.  

Four groups witnessed their market values decline, while the development bank group with a decline of 17.95 points led the segment. Of the nine gainers, non-life insurance and microfinance gained a whopping 369.78 points and 356.23 points, respectively.

Among individual companies, 142 were recorded as gainers whereas only 97 were the losers.

Sanima GIC Insurance Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 341.77 million. Upakar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited was recorded as the topmost gainer, while Miteri Development Bank Limited lost the highest of 7.65 percent of its market price.
