National Film Award all set to return after two years with flair

To mark the 19th anniversary of Film Development Board (NFD), ‘National Film Award’ is scheduled to be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Maharajgunj on July 12.

The annual award function could not happen in year 2073 BS and 2074 BS, due to several reasons, is now all set to return with flair. This year the pending awards of the years 2073 BS, 2074 BS and 2075 BS will also be handed over at the award ceremony which will also include ‘Life Time Achievement Award’.

Moreover, appreciation letters and awards that will confer by President Bidhya Devi Bhandari, also have cash prizes. According to Keshav Bhattarai, the chairperson of NFD, the winner will receive Rs 25,000 per person in each category.

Chairperson Bhattarai also added that recently held meeting of NFD has approved an increment of Rs 26,000 in the existing cash prize. And next year the winners will get a total of Rs 51,000 for each winner from various categories.
