KMG Chairman Sirohiya brought to Kathmandu via Helicopter

KATHMANDU, May 28: Kailash Sirohiya, the chairman of Kantipur Media Group (KMG), who was arrested in a citizenship case, has been brought to Kathmandu by a helicopter.

Last Friday, Sirohiya was admitted to Kavya Hospital in Janakpur due to health problems. Following a referral by his doctor, Sirohiya was transported to Kathmandu today by a helicopter for further treatment, according to DSP Ranjan Awa, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Dhanusha.

Doctors have reported that Sirohiya suffers from heart and high blood pressure issues. He has been referred to Medicity Hospital in Kathmandu for advanced medical care.

On May 21, Sirohiya was arrested by police at the Kantipur Media Group office in Kathmandu. He was brought to Dhanusha based on a complaint filed on April 28 by Madhesh Provincial Assembly member Indrajit Prasad Mahato of the RSP, alleging citizenship offenses.

On Monday, the Dhanusha District Court extended the investigation period for the third time, granting an additional three days.
