Kaligandaki corridor blocked by landslides

BAGLUNG, Aug 14: The road along the Kaligandaki Corridor has been blocked due to landslides triggered by incessant rainfall in Dablyang, Baglung Municipality-10.

The corridor was blocked for a week. Suman Niure, the head of the District Traffic Police Office, said that the traffic in the area was disrupted due to the landslide that occurred on Tuesday night.

Similarly, heavy vehicles were halted for months after the parts of the corridor were swept away by landslides. He said that the transportation of vehicles in South Baglung has also been closed, due to the blockage of the corridor.

Following the blockage of the corridor, the residents of Jaimini Municipality, Bareng Rural Municipality and Baglung Municipality have been impacted.
