Johnny Depp to come back to direct his first movie ‘Modigliani’ after 25 years

Johnny Depp is set to return to direct a movie for the first time after 25 years. Depp will make a directorial debut for a biographical drama about Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani titled ‘Modigliani’.

According to reports, Al Pacino is producing the film along with Barry Navidi. IN.2, the European arm of production company Infinitum Nihil, is backing up the film.

According to a report of Variety, Depp stated, “The saga of Mr. Modigliani’s life is one that I’m incredibly honored, and truly humbled, to bring to the screen.” He added, “It was a life of great hardship, but eventual triumph — a universally human story all viewers can identify with.”

The movie is Depp’s latest effort to restart his career in the wake of his highly publicized defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard.
