Interaction on public toilet management

KATHMANDU: With an aim to share and discuss on the directives, guidelines and business model to improve the public toilet services in municipalities, Department of Water Supply and Sewerage supported by GUTHI and Water Aid Nepal organized a one-day workshop on Sunday at Hotel Himalaya, Kupondole.

According to the press statement released by GUITH, ‘Public Toilet Management Interactive Workshop’ aimed to make the participants aware about the current status of the public toilet management in Kathmandu, operation guidelines and business plan, regulation to tackle the fecal sludge and closing the sanitation loop among others.

Twenty representatives from various municipalities were asked to participate in the workshop as per the press statement. And the participants present at the event talked about the condition of public toilet at their areas and need for reformation as per the statement. The workshop was conducted on the occasion of National Sanitation Week.
