Govt to terminate contracts with 52 builders who failed to complete work on time (With list)

KATHMANDU, July 29: The Road Division office, Charikot, under the Federal Road Supervision and Monitoring Office, Kathmandu, has initiated the process of terminating contracts with 52 builders who failed to complete their construction projects on time.

The office issued a notice today announcing the commencement of contract termination proceedings for the builders who have not met the deadlines stipulated in their agreements. 

Builders have been given the opportunity to provide an explanation as to why their contracts should not be terminated. According to the office, an official representative of each construction company has to appear within 15 days of the notice's publication to submit a written explanation detailing the reasons behind the delays and the basis for the projected completion of the work.

The office has also warned that any failure to respond adequately within the specified timeframe will lead to the continuation of the contract termination process and potential blacklisting, in accordance with the provisions of the Public Procurement Act, 2063, Public Procurement Rules, 2064, and the contract agreement’s termination clauses.
