Gajar ko halwa recipe

Gajar ko halwa (Carrot pudding) is one of the favourite dishes across the country. It is a simple and delicious blend of carrot (gajar) with milk and sugar in ghee. 

 

Ingredients required 

• Half Kg carrots

• 10 whole green cardamom

• 500 grams sugar

• 250 grams ghee (clarified butter)

• 400 grams condensed milk 

• 2 Cinnamon sticks

• 50 grams almonds

• 50 grams pistachios

 

Steps to make the dish 

• Grate the carrot and put it in a pot on heat, stir fry continuously till all the water is evaporated

• Then put some green cardamom, cinnamon and sugar and cook for a while. Now put some ghee and cook 5-7 minutes further

• Add the condensed milk and cook few more minutes

• Your dish is ready. Now serve on a plate and garnish with pistachios and almonds.
