Finding hope

“Hope is like the sun, which as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us.”    - Samuel Smiles

Life has both rainy and sunny days. We experience both sadness and joy in life. Rainy days are synonymous to grief, loss, damage etc. They amplify a sense of horror among people in a way that rain is often portrayed as catastrophe.

A sense of grief, loss, and damage make people hopeless, leading to lowering their self-esteem and developing mental illnesses such as anxiety, and depression or even leading to a treacherous choice like suicide.
Empathy is a gift of compassion that has only been presented to human beings. Yet, we are reluctant to put this extraordinary ability to use. We sympathize with others but do not offer helping hands. A little fragment of empathy can inspire hopes for the downhearted, helping them escape the misery traps.

Hope is an ability to see light at the end of the tunnel. This is the only factor that makes us believe in good and also keeps us from giving in. Hope has no barriers. It finds the space to shine through. However, sometimes we cannot remain hopeful during the times of broken relationships, unemployment, loss, or unstable state of mind. The emotional damage leads to complete hopelessness. But there are ways to regain lost hope.

Ways to live
“Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That’s why it’s called present,” said Eleanor Roosevelt.

For me, this proverb offers a lesson for life. We often feel miserable looking back at the hard times. When we lose hope, we start recalling events of the past which discourage us to do anything positive.
We must learn to let go of the thing from our bad past, and live for the present. The present has a lot to offer. Our past doesn’t have to define our future. When we live in the present, we comprehend how every moment is and start enjoying every little thing in our life.

Nothing makes sense during the hopeless times. The things that you once enjoyed doing do not seem important at all. According to various researches, people losing hope might have sudden outbursts of anger, irritability, and frustration. On the contrary, doing what you love brings hopeful moments and it helps us keep moving forward. It helps us discover new horizons of success.

Most people who lose hope develop self-hatred. Series of upsetting events makes them uninterested in almost everything around them and they start criticizing themselves for every wrong that takes place.
We should never let others define us because nobody has a right to make us feel miserable in our own skin. We should try staying positive about ourselves. When someone lets us down, we should not let it affect our entire life. We should believe that there are better things that lay in the future.

People are often let down by negative people. It’s best that we surround ourselves with positive people. Positive people are optimists and encourage and inspire others. They’re very supportive and also help people in need without hesitation.
