Court extends Bechan Jha’s custody for four more days

KATHMANDU, Aug 12: The Kathmandu District Court has extended the custody of Bechan Jha by an additional four days to allow police more time to investigate his involvement in the fake Bhutanese refugee scam. 

Judge Mahendra Raj Kafle's bench granted the extension, permitting further interrogation of Jha, who was apprehended in Kanchanpur on June 28. Jha is accused of acting as a mediator, facilitating meetings between brokers and high-ranking officials, including the Home Minister and Secretary.
