BLACKPINK The Movie: 500,000 BLINKS head to theatres to watch the film

BLACKPINK is in the area, and BLINKS are not missing out on their chance to catch up on all the action. Lisa, Rose, Jisoo and Jennie released their first feature film, 'BLACKPINK The Movie' in select theatres worldwide.

According to reports on Korean news portals, around 500,000 fans and moviegoers flocked to theatres worldwide to catch a screening of the film.

'BLACKPINK The Movie' was reportedly released 100 countries and 3,000 theatres on August 4. In Korea, it was available in various formats including ScreenX and 4DX besides the usual.
The countries that recorded the highest footfalls were Mexico, United States, Turkey, Brazil, and Japan. BLINKS from around the world took to Twitter to show their support to the girls. While some posted photos of their tickets, others shared their excitement and love for the girls in emotional messages.

According to reports, Mexico ranked the highest on Google searches for the world BLACKPINK, ever since YG Entertainment announced the film on June 16.
With COVID-19 restrictions slowly easing around the world, reports state that 'The Film' is expected to release in some Southeast Asian countries - Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia, among others by the end of August.

The film was announced as part of the group’s fifth-anniversary celebrations titled “4+1 Project.” The feature film follows the girls on and off stage and sheds light on their achievements and journey throughout the years while beautifully shedding light on the memories they shared.
It is also said to unveil a few candid clips of the girls as a part of their 'unreleased special interview,' and five songs from their concert tour, 'THE SHOW,' and 'IN YOUR AREA.'
