US embassy hosts ‘farm to table’ event with stakeholders
KATHMANDU, August 30: The US Embassy organized a ‘Farm to Table’ event on Tuesday, highlighting Nepal’s agriculture sector to identify opportunities for maximizing the economic potential of its market.
The event saw participation of agro-entrepreneurs, buyers, suppliers, financial service providers, and farmers from Nepal and the United States. A dialogue on innovative solutions to maximize resources and improve efficiency across all components of Nepali agriculture was also organized during the event.
“Another major issue discussed during the event is the market demand of Nepali agricultural products. Entrepreneurs said there is a huge demand for Nepali agro-products such as tea,” the statement added.
The US Embassy in Kathmandu is also working on KISAN II project; Feed the Future Seed and Fertilizer Project, Promoting Agriculture, Health, and Alternative Livelihoods (PAHAL) Project, and Sustainable Action for Resilience and Food Security (SABAL) project in order to promote Nepali agriculture and its market.
