KATHMANDU, Aug 31: Two senior secretaries have resigned in protest against the appointment of Ek Narayan Aryal as the new Chief Secretary of Nepal.

Secretary Toya Narayan Gyawali from the National Planning Commission and Secretary Dinesh Bhattarai from the Ministry of Women, Children, and Social Welfare submitted their resignations following Aryal’s appointment.

Gyawali, who was the most senior secretary and ranked first among all secretaries, and Bhattarai, who ranked third, were reportedly dissatisfied with the decision to appoint Aryal, who was ranked fourth.
