KATHMANDU, Oct 4: Shree Airlines is set to start flights from Kathmandu to Bharatpur on Friday. Previously, only Buddha Air's ATR-42 was operating flights on that route.

Spokesperson for Shree Airlines, Anil Manandhar, stated that Shree Airlines has started its services on this route with chartered flights from today.

"We have initiated chartered flights from today after completing all the processes with the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, given the high demand from passengers," Spokesperson Manandhar said. "Preparations are already underway to operate two regular flights daily within a few days," he said.

The company is operating the chartered flights using Bombardier's Q400 series aircraft.

"There will be 70 passengers on the Kathmandu-Bharatpur flight and 50 passengers on the Bharatpur-Kathmandu flight," said Manandhar.

The flying cycle of the aircraft operated by Buddha Air on this route is nearly depleted. The company has already retired one of its three aircraft.

According to Rupesh Joshi, the Sales Director of Buddha Air, there are currently 10 flights operating on this route daily.

"We have received permission to operate flights to this destination using the ATR-72. We plan to start flights from Kathmandu to Bharatpur using the ATR-72 soon," he said.
