Prez Bhandari to visit Manakamana Temple today

A troop of Nepal Army personnel backed by sniffer dogs deployed in Manakamana Temple for the security arrangement of President Bidhya Devi Bhandari on Thursday.

GORKHA, Sept 29: President Bidhya Devi Bhandari is arriving in Gorkha to visit Manakamana Temple on Thursday.

According to Narayan Bhatta, Chief District Officer of Gorkha, President Bhandari is scheduled to arrive in Gorkha by a helicopter.

Locals will apprise Bhandari of condition of the temple, its problems including necessity of renovation and tourism opportunities.

She will remain for about an hour at the temple. There will be a less number of pilgrims visiting the temple as the Manakamana Cable car is closed for regular maintenance today.

With the President’s scheduled visit, security condition has been beefed on and around the temple premises.
