Pacific Angel Exercise between Nepali Army and US Army concludes

KATHMANDU, Sept 21: The Pacific Angel 24-2 Exercise has successfully concluded, featuring collaboration between the Nepali Army and the US Pacific Air Forces.

This initiative aimed to enhance humanitarian assistance and disaster response capabilities through cooperation among military personnel, civilians, and non-governmental organizations, while also improving search and rescue operations between the United States and Nepal.

The exercise included expert exchanges on critical areas such as aircraft maintenance, aircrew operations, personnel recovery in challenging terrains, swift water and flood recovery, patient transport, and medical responses to hazardous materials.

For some time, the Nepali Army and the US Army have been engaged in exercises focused on disaster management and humanitarian assistance, which have significantly improved disaster response capabilities. These efforts have facilitated knowledge exchange and strengthened military professionalism.

This edition of the exercise marked the fourth one since its inception in 2012, emphasizing the sharing of knowledge and best practices to enhance the effectiveness of search and rescue operations during various disaster scenarios.
