OKHALDHUNGA, March 26: As instructed by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Okhaldhunga District Administration Office has issued a circular for the residents of Okhaldhunga district to hand over all illegally acquired weapons.

Issuing a notice, Chief District Officer (CDO) Munka Neupane has instructed the locals to hand over all prohibited arms and ammunition within thirty five days since the circular was issued by the ministry on March 15. The CDO said all the illegal arms and ammunition, those arms not renewed in time or failure to transfer the license posthumously need to be returned to the home ministry.

“We have requested them to hand in all illegally acquired weaponry, and their failure to do so will land them in legal trouble,” said CDO Neupane.

As notified to Republica, people can submit their illegal arms to the nearest police stations and the district police office.

District Police chief Pushpa Raj Malla said that those failing to submit all illegal arms within the deadline would be booked for keeping illegal arms and ammunition.
