Nepali leaders don’t like Britain’s exit from EU

 KATHMANDU, June 24: Nepali politicians including former ministers have not liked Britain’s exit from the European Union (EU).

Writing on his twitter, Former Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai, who is also the coordinator of Naya Shakti Nepal,   has said, “Brexit is a regressive move, against world peace! People of the world must come closer, integrate further, not return to the cocoons!”

Similarly, Former Finance Minister Ram Sharan Mahat has said that the British decision is likely to have significant economic and political ramifications.

"There will be no economic and financial impact of Britian's exit from EU. I don't think aid to Nepal will be impacted, either, on this 200th year of friendship celebration. We have to see if the Commonwealth of Nations, UN, WTO will get more emphasis than regional blocs and the special relation with the US, " said Madhukar SJB Rana, former finance minister. 

Likewise, Former Finance Secretary Rameshore  Khanal called the development a mess. “What a mess in the UK?”  he  twitted.

Similarly, CPN-UML secretary Yogesh Bhattarai called UK’s exit from EU as a journey in the wrong direction, terming it as “the height of extreme rightist nationalism.” “Beware of extremism,” he  twitted. 

The United Kingdom has existed from the EU it joined 40 years ago.

British Prime Minister David Cameron has announced his resignation following the referendum in which the Britons voted to separate from the EU.
