NAC to manage cargo shipments for NEA

KATHMANDU, Jan 3: An agreement has been reached between the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and the Nepal Airlines Corporation to transport the NEA’s cargo and employees. 

The agreement was made in the presence of the Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale between NAC Executive Chairman Yuvraj Adhikari and NEA Managing Director Kulman Ghising to use the NAC for any travel of NEA employees and shipment of its cargo. As per the agreement, NAC employees will use NAC to travel abroad as far as posible.

The agreement reached at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation at Singha Durbar on Monday states that the NEA will use the NAC’s service for the abroad travel of its employees and shipment of its cargo. 

On the occasion, Minister Ale expressed his happiness over the commendable work done by the efficient leadership of the NAC and NEA. He also urged high-ranking government officials, private sector industries, and traders to use the NAC’s services. 

NAC Chairman Adhikari thanked the leadership of the Nepal Electricity Authority for accepting their proposal. Meanwhile, the Managing Director of NEA Ghising expressed his commitment to abide by the provisions of the agreement.

Under the agreement, employees of NEA and their family members can get up to 15 percent discount on air tickets for international travel. Similarly, the NEA will receive a 5-10 percent of discount on cargo shipment from the NAC.
