RAJBIRAJ, July 18: A jumbo team of sitting and former ministers on Wednesday visited the flood-hit areas of Saptari to take stock of the relief work.

The team included former prime ministers, senior leaders and ministers of the provincial government. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health Upendra Yadav, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa and former prime minister Madhav Nepal among others visited the flood-hit areas of Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality.

As Tilathi falls under the election constituency of the Deputy PM Yadav, locals had burnt his effigy on Tuesday evening. People accused him of neglecting the people of his own constituency.

Talking to the ministers, locals had demanded that the government find a permanent solution to the flooding problem in the tarai and that temporary relief wouldn’t end their plight.
