Prime Minister Oli expresses sorrow over Darchula jeep crash
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expressed sorrow over the demise of 11 people in a jeep accident in Darchula district on Friday. Oli tweeted on Saturday to pay tributes to seven women, three men and one girl child killed in the jeep crash. "I wish speedy recovery for the driver who was seriously injured in the incident," Prime Minister Oli said in his tweet. Altogether 11 people including a girl child lost their lives when the jeep met with an accident in Duhu Rural Municipality in Darchula on Friday evening.

Lottery to determine candidate for foreign trip
The Nepalgunj Sub-metropolis has determined its candidate for a foreign visit through a lottery. The local government decided to go for a lottery following an intense debate among the Nepali Congress representatives as to who would occupy a quota among three quotas for foreign visit allocated to the party. The local government has 10 quotas for Switzerland, Thailand and Dubai.

No irrigation in 800 thousand hectares of arable land
At a time when the government has been focusing on modernizing agriculture, it is learnt that 800 thousand hectares of land is awaiting irrigation in the country. Of 2.2 million hectares of arable land, only 1.4 million hectare is provided with irrigation. It is mentioned in the irrigation master plan 2075 prepared by the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation.
