JUMLA, Nov 27: Youths have demonstrated against the ‘negligence’ of the security bodies in the stealing of the idols from Chandannath Temple on Sunday.

They demonstrated in front of the District Administration Office (DAO), Jumla accusing the law enforcement agency and local administration of failing to maintain vigil although the DAO is located nearby the temple.

Agitated youths have closed the marketplace, transportation and government and non-government offices. Youths said that they will continue to demonstrate until police take an action against those involved in the theft.

The locals have demanded that the Nepal Army be mobilized to carry out search operation along the roads used by pedestrians.

Fourteen large and small idols, including the image of the four-handed deity Dattatreya, have been stolen from the temple here last night.
