HURFON urges to find out solution through talks

KATHMANDU, Jan 29: National Human Rights Foundation (HURFON) has called agitating Prof Dr Govinda KC to find out solution immediately and end the hunger-strike by holding fruitful discussions. 

Demanding to pass the National Medical Education Bill as per the past agreement, the HURFON urged the government to take initiative for fruitful talks with Dr KC and asked Dr KC to end the hunger strike. 

A press release issued today by HURFON Chair Bhawani Prasad Kharel and General Secretary Harishchandra Bhattarai urged to find out solution through talks as division of political parties, health workers and civil society after the endorsement of the Bill from House of Representatives has made the situation further uncertain. 

Dr KC has been staging fast-unto-death from January 10 putting forth various demands in this connection. His health is deteriorating day by day. Nepal Medical Association has announced relay hunger strike demanding to save life of Dr KC while the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital has urged not to organize any protest program on hospital premises.
