Govt issues online media directive
KATHMANDU, March 23: The Nepal government has introduced Online Media Operation Directive 2073 in order to control and regulate the media.
Published in the national gazette on Thursday, the directive contains provisions which are likely to intervene in the message dissemination process and the operation of the media.
Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), an umbrella organization of journalists, took strong exception to the directive in a press statement issued by FNJ General Secretary Ujir Magar today.
