Seven detainees who escaped from custody in Dhanusha arrested

JANAKPURDHAM, Sept 23: Seven of the nine detainees who escaped from the custody of the District Police Office in Dhanusha have been arrested. Nine inmates had escaped by breaking the ventilation of the detention cell on Monday night. Among them, Satyam Jha was immediately apprehended by the police from Janakchowk.

Among the eight others who escaped, the police arrested three more from a rice field in Lakhouri, located near Vaidehi Station in Mithila Municipality, Dhanusha.

According to DSP Ranjan Awa, the arrested individuals include Roshan Kumar Mandal, 24, from Ward 7 of Mithila Municipality, an accused in a drug-related case; Abhashkar Kumar Yadav, 33, from Ward 13 of Siraha Municipality; Bikki Karki, 22 from Ward 4 of Janakpur, who is facing charges of misbehavior, Amit Kumar Jha, Ranjit Mandal and Sumit Mester.

Similarly, Manish Mandal and Bishal Mukiya are still absconding.

A search operation has been underway since morning in various locations to locate the escaped detainees.
