Fire in Kumbheshwar, Lalitpur brought under control

KATHMANDU, Aug 19: The fire that broke out in Kumbheshwar, Lalitpur Metropolitan City-16, has been brought under control nearly after two hours.

According to SP Naresh Raj Subedi at the District Police Range, Lalitpur, the fire was brought under control with the help of municipal police, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army personnels and local residents, along with six fire engines from Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, and Kathmandu districts.

The fire started in the upper floor of a two-story house belonging to Ajarman Shakya at around 9 AM.

Police said that efforts are underway to assess the damage caused by the fire. They have also reported that there were no human casualties in the incident.

It has been reported that no one was in the house when the fire broke out. As today is Jatra, the cooking of Jerry and Swari was underway in the basement. It is initially estimated that the fire may have been caused by a gas leak.
