Corruption case filed against four employees of KMC

KATHMANDU, Dec 16: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a case at the Special Court against four employees of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) alleging corruption in the contract of a building under-construction in Teku.

According to CIAA, a case was filed at the Special Court in Kathmandu on Wednesday against the employees as the construction contractors were selected by wrongly evaluating the bid for the construction of the building.

It is said that Bhairav ​​Bahadur Bogati, director of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Bakhat Bahadur Saud, chief deputy director of procurement unit, Suman Adhikari, deputy director, Bir Bahadur Khadka and engineer Umesh Kumar Budhathoki selected construction contractors by preparing wrong documents.

According to Narayan Prasad Risal, spokesperson for the CIAA, the commission filed a chargesheet against the accused at the Kathmandu court on Wednesday seeking punishment under Section 9 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059 BS.
