MYAGDI: Sept 25: Nepal Telecom (NT) has expanded its service in Korala, a border point with China's Autonomous Region Tibet.

According to chief of Baglung-based Nepal Telecom, Santosh Baral, the service started from Tuesday by erecting BTS towers for the operation of 2G and 4G internet and mobile phone services at the Korala border trade transit point.

Chair of Lo Manthang Rural Municipality, Tasinorbu Gurung said the communication facility has made it easier for the locals, traders, security personnel, customs officials and anyone who reaches Korala border point, to communicate.

The electricity from the central transmission line was extended to the Korala border point in April last year, which came into operation a year ago.

Chief District Officer Janak Raj Panta said preparations have been made to set up offices of immigration, customs and security agencies in the buildings constructed with the investment of the Gandaki Province government.

Residents of Lo Manthang, Waragung Muktikshetra, Gharpajhong, Thasang, Loghekar and Damodar Kunda rural municipalities of Mustang have been regularly traveling up to Nechung-Litchi in Tibet for trade purposes.
